The ISIS deliberately sends its Kurdish militants to the frontlines in hopes of being killed in the battles, the Kurdistan Regional Government says.
the head of the Communication and Media Department of the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs, Mariwan Naqshbandi, said that except for a part of the Kurdish members of ISIS who have escaped the terrorist group and returned to the Kurdistan Region, most of the others have been killed in different battles against the Peshmerga or Iraqi security forces.
Naqshbandi pointed out that the extremist group does not trust its Kurdish members, and they are intentionally being sent to death by the time I commanders.
According to the information obtained by the ministry, also, scores of Kurdish terrorists have been executed by IS itself, accusing them of spying for the Kurdish Peshmerga and other Iraqi forces.
A Kurdish official earlier this year that among 500 Kurdish members of ISIS, over 270 have so far been killed with nearly 150 others surrendered to the Peshmerga.
